St James Cavalier has undergone a massive transformation over the last 20 years. With the building going from a place designed to keep people out to an environment that promotes creativity and togetherness, such a change serves as an example of Malta’s progress.
The construction of the building holds elements from three distinct eras, each with its own unique characteristics. This combination of such elements allows the architecture to narrate its own story through its design.
From a tool of warfare to a place of innovation and artistic celebration, the building continues to provide a space for the public to engage in dialogue over various types of art as well as create their own. These developments once again illustrate the buildings’ significance in both the past and future.
